This Library of Resources is focused on providing teachers with the knowledge and strategies to provide sensorimotor level learners with research-based instructional strategies.  Participants will observe sensorimotor level learner profiles (e.g., videos), increase understanding of routine-based instruction, examine exploration schemes, and highlight school and community-based activities focused on Boccia and Bocce skills.  Participants will have the opportunity to build student skills through multiple avenues of engagement.   

 

This workshop will explore age-appropriate and functional motor activities for students with severe cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Evaluation protocols, IEP development, instructional strategies, equipment and positioning, and specific individual and group activities will be explored for students with severe and multiple impairments.

 

This session is focused on providing Adapted Physical Education teachers with the knowledge and strategies to provide sensorimotor level learners with research-based instruction.  Move to the “Next Level” of instruction by utilizing a student-centered approach to improve goal writing based on assessment of interests, motivations, strengths, and weaknesses.  Learn to develop routines with embedded goals and collect data to demonstrate student progress.  Support student success through structured motor activities.
